About 4936 Kinlet Hall
4936 Kinlet Hall was first restored to working order in 2000 and has had several spells on the main line working as a fully certificated locomotive. She was fitted with OTMR in 2009. After her latest 10-year overhaul she regained her mainline certificate in 2011.
4936 is owned by KHL Ltd, a small consortium of private individuals and is usually resident on the West Somerset Railway. She is often seen in regular use on service trains and at Gala events. She may also been seen occasionally at other heritage railways as a guest locomotive at their Gala events.
Many of the locomotive's recent mainline appearances have been at the head of Vintage Trains' 'Shakespeare Express' charters. When in use on the mainline network 4936 is accompanied by her own fully certificated support coach and is attended by a fully trained volunteer support crew. These and other volunteers care for the locomotive throughout the year, tackling tasks such as cleaning, repairs and maintenance.
